FIFA and Sony Music Entertainment have announced that Mexican guitarist Carlos Santana will be performing the official 2014 World Cup Anthem along with former Fugees singer Wyclef Jean, samba star Alexandre Pires and Swedish DJ Avicii. The name of the song in Portuguese is “Dar um Jeito”, which translates to We Will Find A Way in English. The four musicians will also be performing the anthem during the closing ceremonies on July 13 in Rio de Janeiro after the final game.

The 66-year-old Santana, who played at the famous Woodstock rock festival in America way back in 1969, said, “It is an honor to take part in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and have Dar um Jeito selected as the Anthem. Along with my brothers, Wyclef, Avicii and Alexandre Pires, we look forward to performing the song in Rio de Janeiro in July and sharing this message of light and hope on the FIFA World Cup stage.”

In addition, FIFA and Sony are putting together a CD to pay tribute to the World Cup which features some of the world's most popular artists. However, the World Cup Anthem has yet to be released. Other artists on the World Cup CD will reportedly be Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Claudia Leitte, Shakira, and Ricky Martin.

FIFA stated, “It is great to see another impressive group of artists join the official music programme of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. FIFA and Sony have been working hard in developing an album that brings the sounds of Brazil to life through a variety of creative tracks. Santana, Wyclef, Avicii and Alexandre Pires are true musical icons and I am thrilled they will be part of the closing ceremony.”
