PRETORIA - Danny Jordaan, who was the chief executive officer for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee (OC), is moving up the football administration ladder. (Pictured: Danny Jordaan climbs FIFA ladder.)
The man largely credited for overseeing a successful World Cup has been appointed to the FIFA inspection committee and will play a critical role during the run up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Brazil.

A statement released by FIFA and made available to The Zimbabwean, says Jordaan's experience would benefit Brazil, who are now preparing to host the next World Cup.
"After a successful World Cup in South Africa, we feel that Danny Jordaan will have a lot to offer to Brazil, who are the next hosts. He has travelled the same road," reads the statement.

Jordaan will be expected to travel from South Africa to Brazil periodically throughout the build up to the football tournament as part of the FIFA inspection committee that will monitor the progress of the next host nation. He is also expected to share how the OC managed to overcome some of the challenges they faced during the preparations to host the South African tournament.
