FIFA World Cup 2014 Song - Shakira
Remember the 2010 FIFA World Cup song “Waka Waka”? Well, Shakira is back at it again with a new song called “La La La” which is a reworked version of her song “Dare”.
Shakira told Dailystar more about the soundtrack.
“It is an upbeat, Brazilian track. The lyrics are personal and I have actually recorded a version for the World Cup.”
Shakira’s son Milan was featured in the song as well.
“I was in the studio and Milan came in to hang out in the afternoon. I had him on my lap and he was listening and then when it came to the end of the song, he just went “myah,” she said.
Back in February, Arab Idol winner Mohammad Assaf was offered to sing during the opening ceremony, but was later banned.
He talked more about singing World Cup 2014 at a news conference in Gaza.
“I was supposed to sing for the World Cup 2014, in the opening ceremony, but, I do not want to accuse anyone but some people, or states or parties, God knows who, intervened and FIFA canceled my song with Platinum Records,” he said.
Assaf also mentioned that Shakira “refused to sing in the World Cup because I will not sing.”
Back in July, FIFA president Sepp Blatter said “he would invite Assaf to sing at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.”
Lots of controversy and hearsay. Stay tuned for more info.
